1. Acceptance of terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the MedScannr platform, including the website at medscannr.com and any related applications or services (collectively, the "Service"), operated by Syntax Circus ("we", "us", "our").

By registering for an account or using the Service, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) and that you accept these Terms in full. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. The service

MedScannr allows you to create a personal emergency medical profile linked to a QR code. You control what information is stored and who can access it. We provide the platform; the accuracy and completeness of the content you enter is entirely your responsibility.

3. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials and profile PIN confidential. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. If you suspect unauthorized access, contact us immediately at support@medscannr.com.

You must not create accounts for other adults without their knowledge and consent. Parents and legal guardians may create and manage profiles for minors in their care.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Enter false, misleading, or malicious medical information.
• Use the Service to impersonate another person.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' profiles or to our systems.
• Scrape, reverse-engineer, or otherwise extract data from the Service.
• Use the Service in any way that violates applicable law or regulation.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms without prior notice.

5. Medical disclaimer

The information stored in your MedScannr profile is provided by you and is not reviewed, verified, or endorsed by MedScannr or any medical professional. MedScannr makes no warranties regarding the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for purpose of any profile content.

In a medical emergency, always call 911 (or your local emergency number). Do not rely solely on a MedScannr profile as a substitute for direct communication with a healthcare professional.

6. Intellectual property

The MedScannr name, logo, and underlying software are the property of Syntax Circus and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You retain full ownership of the content you enter into your profile. By storing that content with us you grant us a limited license to process and display it solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.

7. Availability and changes

We aim to keep MedScannr available 24/7 but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may perform maintenance that temporarily takes the service offline, and we will give reasonable notice where possible.

We may modify or discontinue features of the Service at any time. We will give reasonable notice of material changes that affect how you use your profile.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, MedScannr and Syntax Circus shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, including any harm resulting from reliance on profile information in an emergency situation.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.

9. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless MedScannr and Syntax Circus from any claims, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your profile content, or your violation of these Terms.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States of America. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the United States, unless mandatory consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction provide otherwise.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll notify you of material changes by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
